Fender Telecaster

This Stock Fender Telecaster underwent some serious modifications to become a true Hot Rod Country Killer!

The neck was a thick U shape and has been thinned to almost Wizard dimensions and finished with Nitro. The stock pickups were swapped for DiMarzio Twang King neck and bridge and a Red Velvet middle, strat style 5-way switch with vintage stereo slider knob. The pickguard is a Yox all wood, ash painted Candy & Pearl Flame with Circle of Fifths graphic. The body is a Carmine Red trans Dye with House of Kolor Kosmic Klear. The body received some serious mods, B-Bender route, middle pickup route, and contoured on the back side of the lower cut for better high fret hand access. The bridge was upgraded to a Hipshot model and of course a Parsons/Green B-Bender! The only thing not modified on this guitar is the headstock. Take a look farther down to see the whole process.

Brad with his new Tele!

"With great Teles comes great responsibility"

Before and after, from sad and stock to a true Hot Rod!

Well, Brad's Tele is going back under the knife!

Going to get some serious body modifications, new finish, and some "special" hardware. While stripping the body we discovered it was Fender factory painted 3 times! First a 2 color burst, then Salmon Pink and finally the ugly Midnight Blue (purple). After all that crap was taken off we see the body is solid Ash with a Maple top and back, and some odd body details not seen on Mexican Standard Teles. It has gorgeous wood with no damage, can't figure out why Fender painted it so many times.

Modified back contour the on bottom horn for better upper neck access.

All laid out, ready to drill and route. Can anyone guess what the "special" hardware is?

Here it is routed and Parsons/Green B-Bender ready!

Transparent Carmine Red, ready for the House of kolor Kosmic Clear.

True Hot Rod Paint for a true Hot Rod Tele!

The first stage of the clearing process is finished, now we wet sand and spray it again.

A quick glimpse of how it will look when it's finished.

The last coats of clear are finished. Now to clean up the cavities and screw holes, shield the cavities, and mount the hardware.

Shielded with all the body hardware mounted.
